Course Description

ESL 111 is a required course in the ESL composition program leading to ESL 123, ESL 133, ESL 141, 151, and English 101. GCC ESL Program

IMPORTANT STUDENT NOTICE: Glendale Community College requires students in this credit course to receive a letter grade: A, B, C, D, F, or W. The grades D, F, and W are NOT PASSING and are negative in your student record. Not passing grades do not allow students to continue to the next level (ESL 123) in the following semester. ESL 111 can be very difficult for true beginning students. If you would like to take a beginning level ESL course without grading, you can take Non-Credit ESL course, ESL 010. That course is FREE (except books) and requires no grades. Please ask me for more information.
